My website is down and has been down for two days without me knowing it. I apologize to all of you that I met at the wedding expo. You are probably thinking where is her website? Right now, I am too. I had a great time with Matthew today. He is such a ham! He really should be acting. I love it when children are really able to let loose and be themselves in front of a camera. I think that this is something we are great at here at Courtney Matevey Photography. We truly love, kids being kids! Great job Matthew and I hope you love the pics. A big thank you goes out to his uncle Michael for bringing him in!

I have been touched by amazing challenges in my life, but the biggest challenge of my life has been to help my little man, Cohen battle the disease of Autism or something that has a lot of the same characteristics. I gave up three years of my life to totally devote my time to his therapy and we are so lucky to say that he is doing marvelous. Pretty much everyone who meets him would have no idea, due to many things we have done (if you want more info feel free to contact me). It is a mission in my life to educate parents and people about this horrible disease and the hope a child can have with early diagnosis. My son has gone from a child that could only say the same phases over and over to a regular kiddo, if we follow a regular routine and pretty specific diet. We are so proud of him! In honor of all of Cohen's accomplishment we are holding our Big Love Photography Sessions from February 1-16. With each session, we will be donating your fee ($100) to help raise awareness about autism and defeat this disease. In addition, if I receive 250 posts to my blog, I will be donating an additional $250. There is also another generous surprise from us as a thank you for your donations! Sometimes the photography business can be pretty weird. Some photogs are afraid to be friendly or friends with you, but it sure is great to have friends in the business. If something breaks or you need to borrow a lens, you have someone to lean on. I have lots of photog friends in CA, NY, NC, and Canada, but now I have a friend here in Springfield. I just wanted to give a plug to Christa at Studio 7. She is a real sweety and sent me several referrals. We will be attending WPPI together! Thanks Christa! Your a doll!

My little buddy Taylor came in today to do some test shots. We just repainted the studio in preparation for the Design Sessions and wanted to see if the paint changes had made a big difference. Yahoo, it did! Note to other photogs, a lot of Raspberry in a big rooms leads to major color correction. I think we would all rather spend time on other things. Thanks Taylor!

After attending the Bridal Extravaganza, I had many calls today. After today, it looks as though I will be able book only 8 more weddings this year due to the amount of children's portraiture that I do each year.
